Terms of service

The agreement covering your subscription, your account and your use of the study material.

What these terms cover

These terms apply to any use of Cavum. You agree to them by creating an account. You must be 16 or older to open one.

Subscription and payment

  • The subscription costs EUR 10 per month including VAT, and gives access to every course available at that time.
  • If you started before 3 September 2026 you keep the price you signed up at (EUR 20 per month) for as long as that subscription runs. Your account page always shows the amount that is actually collected.
  • You pay monthly in advance. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel any month from your account page. Access continues to the end of the paid period; we do not refund a running month.
  • We announce price changes at least 30 days in advance. If you disagree you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have a fourteen-day cooling-off period. If you ask us to start delivery immediately and you use the service within those fourteen days, your right of withdrawal ends once delivery is complete; you confirm this at checkout.

Your account, on one device at a time

  • An account is personal. Sharing your credentials is not allowed.
  • You can use your account on one device at a time. If you sign in on a second device, you continue there only after signing the first device out. You do that with one click on the second device, or from your account page; the first device then has to log in again.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your credentials. If you suspect misuse, report it immediately.

What you may do with the study material

All book text, practice questions, explanations and illustrations are our own work and protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own study, for as long as your subscription runs.

  • Not allowed: copying, reselling, publishing or sharing material with people who have no subscription.
  • Not allowed: automated or bulk retrieval of content, or circumventing technical protection measures.
  • Book pages carry a watermark traceable to your account. If material traced to your account is distributed, we suspend the account.

Availability

We do our best to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We announce planned maintenance in advance where we can. For a prolonged outage attributable to us, you can ask for a proportionate credit over the period concerned.

Termination by us

We can suspend or end an account for breach of these terms, for fraud, or for sharing material. Where reasonable we warn you first. If we end it through no fault of yours, we refund the remaining period.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the event. This limit does not apply to intent or wilful recklessness on our part. See also the disclaimer on the use of medical content.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to this agreement. Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless mandatory law says otherwise. Contact us first at [email protected]; most matters are settled that way.
